Error while launching Ms Outlook 2003


Error message below appear while access to Ms Outlook

Errors have been detected in the file C:/Document and Settings/Administrator/LocalSettings/ApplicationsDatas/Microsoft/Outlook/outlook.ost.Quit Outlook and all mail- enabled applications and then use the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair error in the file. For more Information about the inbox repair.see help

There are few option that above error message appear
- inproper way to close ms outlook
- Archive / outlook profile corrupted

there are few way for you to repair the error

1. Run Repair and Detect
A. From help menu, click on detect and repair to restore the ms outlook setting andapplication

2. Run Scanpst.exe on outlook profile(.ost) / archive(.pst)
A. Scanpst.exe can be easily found at C:/Program Files/Common Files/System/MSMAPI
B. inside the folder there a folder named with number either 1033 / 1044
C. open the scanpst.exe and browse for archive and there was 8 phrase to complete the scanning

3. Rename outlook profile (.ost)
A. Go to C:/Document and Settings/Administrator/Local Settings/ApplicationsDatas/Microsoft/Outlook
B. Rename the .ost and re-open your Ms Outlook

4. Recreate new profile (.ost) in ms outlook
A. Go to Control Panel and look for file name call mail, from mail click on show profile
B. Click on add profile, you may follow the step that i stated at the first lesson "How to create Profile in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003"

What is Outlook Delegation

In MS Outlook 2003, there a function that you might interested to discover. it call as Outlook Delegation. this setting allow you to grant another person permission to access certain feature of your outlook email account.

What can you do with delegation, basically you can do whatever you want if you had the owner permission granted to you. below was some of the task you can perform :-

1. view and/or make appointments on your calendar
2. look at and update tasks.
3. read mail in your Inbox and send mail on your behalf
4. access and add to your contacts list
5. read notes
6. view your journal

Recovery Deleted Item / Deleted Email

Most people though that once email had deleted from delete item there had no way to retrieve or restore back the email. below is one of the step to teach you how to retrieve deleted email

1. Click on Deleted Item Folder under All Mail Folders
2. On the Menu Bar, click on tools and select Recover Deleted Item (*in case, you fail to find it, please expand the box)
3. In Recover Deleted Item, you may able to find though email that you had deleted, just click on the email that you want to recover and click on Recover Selected Item

Command Code used in MS Outlook 2003

The command that starts Microsoft Outlook is Outlook.exe. A command-line switch is the addition of a forward slash (/)followed by the switch name and any parameters the switch has. You can try to start Outlook by using one of the switches. For example, at the command prompt type the following command to start Outlook without extensions, Reading Pane, or toolbar customization. The following command assumes that Outlook was installed in the default path.

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe" /safe

Note: Paths that include spaces between words must be enclosed in quotation marks (") and are case sensitive.

/a Creates an item with the specified file as an attachment.

Example:

/autorun macroname Opens Outlook and immediately runs the macro specified in macroname.
/c messageclass Creates a new item of the specified message class (Outlook forms or any other valid MAPI form).

Examples:

/checkclient Prompts for the default manager of e-mail, news, and contacts.
/cleanclientrules Starts Outlook and deletes client-based rules.

/cleanfinders Removes Search Folders from the Microsoft Exchange server store.

/recycle Starts Outlook using an existing Outlook window, if one exists. Used in combination with /explorer or /folder.
/resetfoldernames Resets default folder names (such as Inbox or Sent Items) to default names in the current Office user interface language.

For example, if you first connect to your mailbox Outlook using a Russian user interface, the Russian default folder names cannot be renamed. To change the default folder names to another language such as Japanese or English, you can use this switch to reset the default folder names after changing the user interface language or installing a different language version of Outlook.

/resetnavpane Clears and regenerates the Navigation Pane for the current profile.
/rpcdiag Opens Outlook and displays the remote procedure call (RPC) connection status dialog.
/s filename Loads the specified shortcuts file (.fav).

/safe:1 Starts Outlook with the Reading Pane off.

Unable to view Images on email

1. Click on Start button on your Desktop
2. Click on Run and type in regedit
3. Search for registry path
HKEY_CURRENT_USER >Software >Microsoft >Office >11.0 >Outlook >Security
4. open the registry file call OutlookSecureTempFolder
5. Copy the windows directories path
6. Delete all the temp file inside
7. Close and re-try
